READING THE PAST: A CALLIGRAPHIC INSTALLATION
White-Ellery House, Gloucester, MA, 2017​
Reading the Past is a calligraphic installation of excerpts from the 1847–50 journal of 13-year-old Gloucester resident Hannah S. Babson. The rhythms of everyday life come alive through her observations of school and home that have been lettered on hanging scrolls.

I believe that words have power—to inspire and comfort us and to increase our awareness and affect both personal and communal change. The ten 4' by 6' banners were lettered live in the gallery before an audience.
